These blizzaks are FS locally and I need tires soon anyway for the wife’s van. These rims are from a 01-07 which will NOT fit our 12. $475 for the set.

Lots of factors. How they where driven, the # of miles on them, how long they where used on the dry pavement before the snow, etc.

If it includes the wheels i think you could get a few seasons out of them and it would be fine. I just bought General Altimax Arctic tires for the rally car throigh tirebuyer.com for only 245 delivered. So if you count the wheels and theyre already mounted, not bad. New isnt much more though

having had Blizzaks, those are getting close to being used up. Maybe two seasons tops. then they become “all season” tires and you leave them on until they wear out.

and someone needs to tell that guy you’re supposed to set the quarter upside down; you use the top of Washington’s head as a guide.

here’s a pic of a new WS-70. Blizzaks have very deep tread blocks.

My parents usually only got a year out of their winter tires, but they also ran them all year and put 20-30k miles on them in the summer. As long as they were stored out of the sun and have good tread I’d say they’re still good. As a comparison the snowflake-AT’s on the Jeep have been outside since 2012 and are fine, still only halfway through the tread.

If they’ve been pulled off the wheels a bunch you may start having problems with the bead sealing, but it’s pretty uncommon until they’re old AF.

They look like they have another year or two but $475 is a bit steep for used tires even with rims. I’d throw $250 at them and would be willing to pay up to $350. Considering you can buy WS 80's in your size for $115/tire. That’s about $500 mounted for 4 brand new current generation blizzaks.

I hope they live in Greenland or something... I couldn’t imagine running winter tires in warmer weather (60+) and similarly, running summer tires in cold weather. And I don’t think you need to drive aggressively to be able to tell that seasonal tires are sh*t in the opposite season.

Blizzaks sacrifice themselves for you. I’m trying to nurse my third year out of my set, but then I haven’t driven much on them. And they really should be changed.

Yeah for that asking price I could almost get a new set. I just don’t have a second set of wheels unless my WJ wheels would fit. I think they will just they already have jeep stock tires that are a bit bigger.

Sadly not the case. We only get winter road conditions 6-7 months of the year. They liked hitting the winter tire clearance sales in the spring. Running them all summer had a lot to do with replacing every season, in my mind. One August we road tripped on nearly new winter tires through Wyoming to Yellowstone, and from there through Oregon to Portland. The tires were almost showing cords by the end of the trip. Sadly they didn’t learn their lesson.

I’d try the low ball, the wort they can say is no. Everything is negotiable.

Wowzas. The thought of getting cheapo steelies for the winter tires never came up? Or was even swapping four wheels/20 lugs too much to ask?

Although I guess if you don’t want to swap wheels yourself at home for free dollars, I guess it’d be about the same effort and maybe a similar cost to just bring the tires to a shop to have them remounted every season change.

An ‘04 Impala, so 25% more lugs, lol. I’m not really sure what was going on there. They had a couple vans they swapped tires onto and off (don’t know if it was this thread or not but someone mentioned old Chevy vans being undriveable in the snow... They weren’t wrong) but that may have had more to do with them being studded and illegal in the summer.

Now they’ve got a 4x4 Envoy on all-seasons, and now that my dad’s retired they’ve decided they don’t ever need to go anywhere badly enough to drive when the roads are shitty. So I guess that takes care of that.

I would expect 4-5 seasons on a set at least.

IDK? If you get enough snow and ice it extends the life. I had set of Blizzaks that I sold after 6 winters with 5/32" to 6/32" left on them. They had logged about 28k miles on my old A4 before I bought some Conti EWC. The new owner ran the old Blizzaks on his daughter’s college beater for about 3 more years.
